ldap-auth-client software package provides meta-package for LDAP authentication, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ldap-auth-client
ldap-auth-client is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ldap-auth-client package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ldap-auth-client *
You will get with ldap-auth-client package name, version, architecture and description in a table
